How can I check if my car is equipped with an OBD system?

Turn the ignition key to the start position and if the “Service Engine” or “Check Engine” light is flashing briefly, your vehicle is equipped with an OBD system. Under normal circumstances, the "Service Engine" or "Check Engine" lights will automatically turn off after a short flash, indicating that everything is normal.

What should I do if the OBD indicator lights up and stays lit?

If the "Service Engine" or "Check Engine" lights are constantly lit, the OBD system has detected a problem. But you don't have to panic. After arriving at the destination, you should first check that the fuel tank cap is covered (remember to turn off the engine when refueling). If the indicator is still on for a while after the cover is over, you should take your car to the repair shop for repair. If left unchecked, your car may waste fuel, cause excessive air pollution, and may shorten the life of the engine.

What should I do if the OBD indicator lights up and blinks?

If the "Service Engine" or "Check Engine" light flashes, it indicates that the OBD system has detected a very serious engine problem, such as a fire that may damage the catalytic tank. 4) Open the OBD scanner and read the fault code.

5) Turn the ignition key back to the off position and unplug the reader.
